If you’re like us, you love Fall for its picturesque colors and that feeling of coziness it brings. While Fall is well underway, you still have time to enjoy it before the cold winter comes and covers everything in snow. EW SNOW?! We know.. And that’s why we’ve made a list of things you can do in Kingston this Fall. We know you’re busy with school but taking a couple hours on the weekend to do something fun will do you more good than harm. You’ll be more productive and you won’t feel like you’ve missed out on all the fun things to do. Plus, you’ll probably grab a couple cute insta pics - and we know you love sharing those with your friends. After all, you’ll soon be cooped up at home because it’s too cold out. So check out this list and get out there!
1. Go hiking at the Thousand Island National Park and enjoy the beautiful Fall colors.

The Thousand Island National Park is a 25 minutes drive from downtown Kingston, but well-worth the drive. If you’ve tried to get a ticket to go to Rock Dunder (yes, you actually need to buy a ticket to go), the classic hiking spot for students in Kingston, you’ll notice that it’s impossible to get. So we recommend you to go to the Thousand Island National Park which is a lot closer than Rock Dunder, and it’s FREE! We recommend the Landon Bay Trails. There are 7 km of trail network and scenic views along the way, so you can spend an hour or a whole day walking through the park. The view from the Lookout Trail is breathtaking and has been considered one of the best natural views in the Thousand Island area.

2. Check out the Kingston Public Market
If you like markets, local grown produce and crafts by local artisans, you’ll love the Kingston Public Market. It’s located at the Spring Market Square in downtown Kingston (corner of King Street and Brock Street) and operates on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 8:30am to 4:00pm. You will be able to browse around and buy fresh produce & cute crafts from locals - so fun!! Fun fact: the Kingston Public Market is the oldest and longest-running market in Ontario!

3. Go sip a latte or cappuccino at Juniper Cafe

We love a good coffee shop and this one has a view! Go down to Juniper Cafe, grab a coffee and sit on their waterfront patio! Juniper Cafe is located at the waterfront of the Tett Center for Creativity and Learning. You’ll be able to enjoy the beautiful waterfront view while sipping on a nice warm coffee - what more can you ask for? Well, they actually serve food too - so grab an amazing sandwich too while you’re at it! Yes it is a little pricey, but tell yourself that you’re paying for the gorgeous view too!

4. Go for a waterfront walk near the Breakwater Park.

If you’re in a time crunch and just want to do a quick activity, we recommend you go for a walk by the water near the Breakwater Park. There’s a walk-path along the water and it’s close to the Queen’s University student housing area. You can walk and take cute pictures by the water - we’re sure you’d enjoy that! The view is just superb, so get walking down to the Breakwater Park area!
5. Go pumpkin picking at Fruition Berry Farm.
What screams Fall more than pumpkins? Visit the Fruition Berry Farm to go pumpkin picking. It’s about a 15 minutes drive from downtown Kingston, so it’s pretty close! You’ll be able to take the wagon to and back from the field to choose your pumpkin. While you're out there pumpkin picking, you can grab some cute insta-worthy pictures. Plus, once you’re home with your pumpkin, you can even carve it. Two-in-one activity - how exciting!
